We're sooooo lame...

...you probably thought this post was about us...
....we're sooooo laaaaaaaaaaaaame.
...you probably thought this post was about us....

well it is.

I'm not going to post much right now, but here's the deal.

Megan came over & babysat for us so that we could have a date night.

date night.

what to do?
dinner?
a movie? [no movie, i'll post why later.....]
So...we went to dinner. We probably left the house at 7:45...7:30 at the earliest.
Our date was over at 9:10.
After dinner....we didn't know what to do!
A movie would put us at getting home waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay past our bedtime.
We were too full to go out for ice cream...
After my encounter with coffee this morning, that wasn't really an option...
Go to a bar? Um...no thanks. Not tonight.
Shopping? The stores closed at 9. We breezed past The Container Store & did a little window shopping...and headed home.

We don't know what to do on a date anymore. We're so lame.
But....we still had a really good time.

Okay....it's 11 pm....way past our bedtime already....and this is cutting into date-nite.

Megan---Thank you sooooooooooooo much.
We needed this.

It's not so much what you do - it's the getting out and being together.
Glad you had a good time.

I am lame too. My idea of a good time is eating out and going to Target.

Bahaha, I remember those days...finally a "date" and no idea what to do!! Now the kids are teenagers...we go to movies, we go to the mall, we go have dinner and play games with our friends. All without kids. They still call on our cell phones...til I threaten them :-) It will get fun again, I promise you will not be el-lamoooo forever.

Our most enjoyable dates are the ones that are not planned.

Liv will get invited somewhere at the last moment and then we will decide to go to a movie and to try that new mexican cafe...and we will end up having a blast.

Our worst dates seem to be "even dates." Times when it is one of our birthdays or an anniversary and we feel compelled to love it up a little. We always end up either getting into an argument or struggling not to bore each other too much until we can get home in time for Bing to watch TV and for me to check my e-mail.

LOL I soooo know what you are talking about!!! We almost never go out without Ava. And when we do (which has only happened six or eight times in three and a half years), we have no idea what to do besides the "dinner and a movie" paradigm. Okay, I take that back...we saw Wilco last fall. Our date nights usually happen at home after Ava goes to bed on Friday nights. Movie rental or game night with friends over. We're so lame too.

At least you made it to your date. The first time Mama and I tried for a hot date, we missed the movie by 12 hours and ended up in a toy store, buying things for 3B. Ooh! Hot!

sounds like me, we plan a meal out and are generally home early! but even worse is that we've always been like that - lol!

We are also lame. We have a date lunch every weekend. We head to Sam's to get the $1.50 hotdog/drink combo and then scarf down as many samples as we can. We also shop at Wal-Mart with coupons and Little Elvis chaperoning. Jealous?

Too funny- mu husband and I have had plenty of date nights where we get dinner and go to Target or Costco, just to be able to s-l-o-w-l-y browse through the store and not have someone saying "I need this, I need this, I need this, mommy, mommy, mommy..."
