Happy Early Birthday...To Me!
For my 30th, I wanted a sewing machine.
:)
...and tonight after work....I got it!
Gage went with me....and he picked out some fabrics. They certainly wouldn't have been my picks, but he got what he wanted!
So, the plan was to make some little pajama pants for Gage out of the fabrics. I ended up making a little Tigger pillow...or, it will be finished tomorrow after I buy some pillow stuffing! And, out of the fireman fabric, I made a regular pillow case. He was livid. He wanted the "Fireman" to be a blankie. He's laying down now, covered in a fireman pillowcase like it is a blanket. Silly-nilly. We'll see....he may get some type of blankie out of the fabric. It seems weird to let him sleep with a pillow case that I just whipped out, and is certainly not fine craftsmanship with regard to sewing....
Anyway....that's been my Friday night.
:)

oooo pretty machine, I nearly got a Brother too, but decided on a Bernina cos of the after sales service promises. I hope you get hours of enjoyment out of your machine.. and a blankie or three too!
That picture of Gage with the sewing machine is great!
Happy sewing. That is one skill (just one...) I do not possess - although I could probably manage a blankie.
Congrats the shiny new sewing machine! I suppose a pillow case sort of works as a sleeping bag when kids are that size...;)
is it me, or in the picture of gage and the sewing machine does his shirt look like it says porn? what does it really say?
Congrats! I love my sewing machine - here's to many hours of happy stitching!
Hooray! I'm so envious, mine is about 300 years old. I'm hoping to use it enough this summer to justify and upgrade.
Love it! I was thinking of asking for a sewing machine either for my birthday or Christmas. Right now I just borrow my mom's...which means I don't get to sew too often. I haven't sewn anything major since I made Lila's Halloween costume.
Good luck! I asked for a sewing machine for my birthday one year. My husband bought me a lovely machine, but I cannot figure out how to use it. I am a dork.
What about mixing the cotton with fleece for a blanket? And I love that's a Project Runway version.
The t-shirt reads, "Born to Play". It's a Texas Longhorn football shirt. A gift from his super-huge-Longhorn-fan GrandDaddy.
:)
So you are 30 now huh? You realize everything on your body starts breaking now dontcha?
thanks for the clarification! i knew you would not put your child in a shirt that said that!!! :)
