Bustin' Makes Me Feel Good!

Ghostbustin' makes us feel good around here....
In our ghetto-fab ghostbusting gear:

Here's the map/game plan we came up with for our ghostbusting adventure:

Top Left: Hotel Room (the little squares are pillows)
Top Right: Kitchen (those are cabinets)
Bottom Left: Ballroom
Bottom Right: Bathroom
Bottom Center: Hello, that's the door.

Well...how else would we spend a weekend morning?

He did NOT like the carrier...

But he eventually settled down...

Here he is at home, in his crib for the first time...

Meet Baby Chris...

Pics from Thursday, 7/22/10....

{Why, yes, I was there in the delivery room.}

So...I already left the house early in the morning on Thursday.
I was on my way to work when I got the call...
And many of you are NOT going to believe this---but there I was WITHOUT my camera. So, I called Rikki (coworker). "Can I borrow your camera!?" Sadly, she was on her way out of town. Called another coworker, Kala. "Have you left the house yet?...Can I borrow your digital camera!?" So, I was very, very fortunate that Kala let me borrow a digital camera, and another friend at work got me my "I am the Big Sister" tee.

I made it there for the big event, and I wish*wish*wish I had gotten my picture made with the two OTHER big sisters standing there at the nursery window. One was maybe 2 or 3 years old, and other was maybe 6 or 7. Yes, I was the oldest....and also the tallest...Now THAT's a first!
:)

I'll keep you all posted on Baby Chris.
He's perfect.
He's changed so much already!
I saw him Thursday...then again today (Saturday) & I swear he already looks a little different.

As weird as this whole situation is {as in my dad has remarried since my parent's divorce to a woman who is YOUNGER THAN ME}, Baby Chris is here. And he's wonderful. And I'm just so surprisingly in love. He has almond eyes, tiny little lips, and scrawny legs. He's got a head full of black hair. He's so little. I love him!

Well.....I'm the Big Sister!

Baby Chris was born 7/22/10, at 3:30pm.

6 lb. 7 oz. 19" in length

And so uh....now that he's here....

As the big sister, I have every excuse to

"act out," right?

...

...

No, I'll try to refrain.

He's as SWEET as he could possibly be!

Pictures coming soon.

I promise.

Whatcha Been Up To?

...well, what have we been up to around here at the Casa de Lainey-Paney?
Had to work on Saturday...good times.
Sunday morning---got to sleep in.
Gage was CONVINCED that it was my birthday {it was not, but why argue?}, so I got breakfast in bed {bacon, pancakes, oj & coffee} & he sang 'Happy Birthday' to me. He EVEN gave me a birthday gift: his Curious George doll. He told me that I could have it since I seem to like it more than him. Imagine my surprise when he checked on me Sunday night, and was quite disappointed to see that I wasn't sleeping with George. He crumpled. So, I quickly grabbed George, Gage climbed into our bed, and we all went to sleep that way...with George.

:)
I'm a lucky mom.

Playdate with Zakary!

....last week, Zakary got to come over & play!!!
{Oh, and he brought his mom.}
Well, that's how Gage would describe it.

I would say, Zephra came over to hang out with me!
{Oh, and she brought Z with her to play with Gage.}

These two kiddos had a GREAT time playing, and then I had to take Gage to karate. The very next day, he was asking if Zakary could come back over & play. Really, they got along THAT well!

A great time was had by all!
Z---we've got to do it again soon!!!!

Weekend boat fun....

A while back, Tera's crew came out on the boat with us.
Oh, it was a great time!
Biggest lessons learned that day: Tera needs waterproof mascara, & Laine cannot drive a boat {yet}.

{Isn't that just the CUTEST picture!?}

Pics from the day.....

"Tera! He told you not to sass him!"
"Nate---violence is not the answer!"

Us....cracking up about the exchange at Gloria's....
Oh, it was a looooong day.
Tubing...FUN. I even GOT THROWN OFF THE TUBE, and didn't freak out...well, I didn't freak out TOO BAD.
Nathan & Tera are like super-troopers. They were both up for wake-boarding & super impressive to me.
A GREAT day was had by all!

Today...

Today...we started by making a fort in the living room behind the couch....

We also played with play-doh...a lot.

Dishes were done...
Beds were made...
...then some bunk beds were moved...
And a whole room was cleaned & rearranged...
...and then there was THIS inspiration:

(from the container store)
Which resulted in a trip to Home Depot...
...and THIS:

{To note: the big blank space in there...well, we've got the wood in the garage; gotta sand the edges & paint with chalkboard paint to add Gage's chalkboard & related chalk-containing buckets...just like we had at the old house, only...a bit smaller, and this time not painted directly on the wall!....and to note, Gage has added his little kiddie laptop to the desk area to make it official.}

There was also some loving on the dog...

There was some playing "Store" in the play room....

...and it was very.expensive.

Luckily, the 31 cents I had {one dime, the rest were pennies} covered the tab.

:)

July 10th...another Gage First!

July 10th: Gage caught his first fish!!!!

Well...Gage & Daddy each caught a small catfish.

Of course they threw them back....but before they could do that, they caught something else...

Ewwwwww!

7/6/10: Allowance.

Gage is now getting an allowance.
Hopefully this will help counter-act his case of the "gimmies."
{Everywhere we go...he wants a toy!}

This is how he chose to spend his allowance: Chuck E. Cheese.

How fast can one little boy spend $5 worth of tokens?
25 minutes.

But, he loved it!
And he thought about it before we went to Chuck E. Cheese.
In his logic---he got entertainment & TOYS {you know...when you trade in your tickets...}. I thought that was pretty smart. I was proud of him for thinking about his allowance & getting some bang for his buck.

......and back at home that night after karate, he was wired & ready for action! So, what does he do? He makes himself a pillow pile. How much fun is it to jump from the couch into a pile of pillows? Gage will tell you: it's a LOT of fun.

THAT was a good day.
