Yesterday....
...my friend, Rikki, had her baby girl, and I got to hold her when she was like 30 minutes old & so perfect! 9 pounds, 9 ounces! What a big baby! Her name is Lauren Elizabeth, and she looks just like her big sister (to me, anyway....).
...I took a test in my Thursday night class. Think I got a B.
...got paper #1 back for that class. "Content & Discussion: Good." I had points taken off for an APA formatting error in the references section. Granted---I get it; I'm an upper level Masters student who should have gotten it right----but I italicized something that was not supposed to be italicized, and I made the same mistake about 20 times. I lost a point for EACH time I did it wrong. My score went from a 100 to an 80; for ONE FLIPPIN' MISTAKE. I'm pissed. And, when I expressed displeasure with the grade I received---basically I was reminded that I made a simple mistake & she expected better of me, given my current level of education. I was also reminded that I am required to have a copy of the APA manual. And, I was told that "some people" are just so used to getting As without even having to try...yada, yada, yada. Whatever. It's not like they give me a car if I graduate with a 4.0.
...I was asked to work on a project for this one organization that I've been using as an invaluable asset in working on my proposed legislation (which will not be sponsored or considered for this session, but certainly I'm ready to gear up for next session....). So, that's exciting to me b/c I really admire the person who asked for my help with it.

I’m with you – “one simple mistake” should not be counted 20 times – you got the message with the first point lost.
As for that project? Yet another step, another building block in your valuable work and goal.
It was one mistake. It should have only counted once. You are right to be pissed!
