The Slip-N-Slide
Let me first say, this was MY idea.
Me & My Big Ideas.
It seemed like such a good idea at the time.
But now, well, let me just say that I am so sore from Slippin'-N-Slidin', that it hurts when I sneeze. My knees hurt, my belly/torso hurt. It is not for the dainty divas. But, then again...who ever thought it was, right?
Evidence of my hands-on-parenting:
To note about the above picture:
* Do not wear a bikini on the Slip-N-Slide
* Yes, I am aware that the swimsuit I'm wearing is old, and faded, and according to Hubby, "hideous". I don't care. It's a total mom-suit. It doesn't slip off in any direction, and you can toss a toddler on the hip & not worry about any flashing of any kind. Yes, it's a good mom-suit. So what if it's ugly? right???
Now, how do you teach a 2 year old to Slip-N-Slide? Ummm...it's not easy. In the end, it was more like Bowling with Babies....
Step One:
Step Two:
Followed by the shrill of "Let's Do It Again!!!!"
Rinse & Repeat.
...and repeat...
....and repeat....
And then...Baby Gage played "Kicky Ball" on the "water slide". It was a good time...Tiring, and painful, but a good time...

Looks like you guys had a blast! But those things are dangerous! I read on another blog that a woman's husband sprang his angle while playing on the slip-n-slide with is kids. So, you're lucky that you are only sore.
What an awesome time together as a family! And i'm totally down w/ the mom suit!! =) Now..if only we could get some warm weather up this way so we can play in the water....we're still wearing long sleeves and i actually had to put a jacket on Colby this morning...CRAZY!!!
Looks like fun and just to note, good or bad suit your ass looks a lot better than mine...though mine is way bigger.
Oh Gage's face in the first two pictures are the sweetest I've ever seen!!
The second and third pictures, sorry!
Ugh, now I've got the fever - we'll have to break out our slip-n-slide tonight if we don't make it over to Schlitterbahn!
Fun! And I am totally a proponent of wearing the appropriate outfit for the occasion and a "mom suit" was appropriate for that one. And you're so cute in it, so whatever. You're not losing your top in front of all the neighbors. (Tell hubby he can get the private show under cover of darkness with the bikini)
Just found your blog through a comment... and clicked on your name since it's "lainey-painey." My name is Elaine and I just wondered if yours was too!
You have a great blog...OH, and I also live in the Metroplex. I'll be back to visit - nice to "meet" you!
So much fun!!!! You are such a great mom getting in on the action! I am so looking forward to hot weather and doing those kinds of things this summer.
awwwww...you guys are so cute! and I love Gage playing Kicky ball!!
and girl, you have a cute butt!!!!
Looks like a fun day, tho.
funny- The Mr & i were JUST talking about slippinslides... and we wondered how bad that must hurt as an adult!!!
guess you know for sure.
so sorry.
Ok, I’m sorry if this sounds completely stupid (and it seems to be obvious to everybody else because no one’s said anything) but since I’ve never been on a slip n slide, I just have to ask how in the world your husband got Gage sliding onto it. In the picture it looks like he is tossing him, and surely that’s not how it happened. Anyway, it looked like you guys had a lot of fun!
Yay! Pictures!
What a good mommy to slide with baby. You look hot even in the mom suit, what a fun day!
TOTALLY LOVE THE PHOTOS!!!!
Fun! Brings back memories of my best friend knocking out her bottom two teeth on the one her brother got for his birthday. That was the end of our slip and slide days.
However, my husband and his friends (up until about two years ago) were still sliding down a hill into the river on a homemade version with a tarp and garden hose. They did this once a year at their river weekend, sometimes on their stomachs and sometimes sitting on empty coolers.
I'd like to say that they've grown out of it, but as soon as I did they would break out the coolers and the tarp again this year.
Looks like you and the family had another nice weekend! I'm still envious of the gorgeous weather you're having!
I always wanted a slip and slide when I was little. Looks like you all had a Fab time. Cheers to the mom bathing suit!
Maggie got a S&S for her 3rd birthday. When Joe tried to show her how to use it, he broke 3 ribs.
I think your Momsuit looks fine.
You are such a fun mom! Gage is so lucky! When we were in Texas we bought Dave's nephew a slip n slide because there's no grass to have in Arizona...you saw the fun pictures of those!!
