Hallmark Fail.

Hubby and I would like to point out that Hallmark does NOT make a card for every life event.
Neither does the internet for that matter.
Hubby clearly wanted to express his gratitude to Jessica for giving me my IM shots during the IVF process. She came over nightly and...
Well, to hear him describe it was quite filthy!
"Well, she bent her over the end of the couch and poked her in the ass."
"Yeah, and sometimes my husband would watch."

Hubby wanted to find the perfect card that said, "Thanks for poking my wife in the ass."
The closest I could come up with was this....
To answer the question...yes, Jessica poked me. Repeatedly. And no, I didn't enjoy it. Not even once. And no, it was not remotely sexy.

I still have to thank those that brought us dinner when I was laid up on bedrest, but for Jess---who came over every night to shoot me up and went to two RE appointments with me as the chaperone on the weekend and for injection teaching---well, we paid for her to have a babysitter one night, and we all went out to dinner! Whooohoooo. Bin 303 was delicious. {Well, the cheesey heaven bread and soup were delicious....my steak was undercooked, but that's okay...}

Anyway----here's a pic from dinner, taken with Hubby's phone at incredibly close range and cropped because the flash made my bra underneath my shirt glow! {Seriously---it was crazy. I asked Hubby if you could really see my bra in real life and he said no...but in the picture---oh my!}

Dinner pic:

{check it: my head looks HUGE compared to Jessica's. wild.}

Hey Jess, thanks for poking me in the ass.

OMG!

OMG, I can't believe that I forgot to blog about this back when....

So, Gage saw some commercial about a restaurant called Golden Corral. I'd never been there. I'd never heard of it. I didn't see the commercial. He comes to me and begs me to take him there because they have all kinds of food AND a chocolate fountain AND cotton candy. He wanted to eat there soooooo bad.

So anyway....I look up the locations online. There was one in a nearby town. WHY didn't I check out the restaurant online? Because I'm an idiot, that's why.

We were over in that nearby town a week or so after he asked to go tot he Golden Corral b/c I needed to get Gage's dresser ordered from the furniture store. Okay----since we are here, why don't I surprise my son with a trip to this place he's been begging to go!?

I did.

....and I quickly regretted every moment of it.

I should have KNOWN that this was going to be an unpleasant experience from the get-go. A shoe-less woman almost knocked Gage down with her ASS as she swooped over to be first in line when a new register opened up.

I could not believe that. That is also when I realized that this place was an all-you-can-eat-buffet. It was....damn near indescribable.

I even snapped a picture of the shoe-less woman. Surprisingly, she WAS the only one without shoes in there. There were plenty of people without sleeves on their shirts....without teeth....without a lot of things.

Pics from Gage's ONE & HOPEFULLY ONLY trip to Golden Corral.
See those red things??? They are SOCKS!!!!

....have to say though---Gage loved the Golden Corral. GAG! What was he thinking???

Gage had a blast.
...and he didn't get salmonella or any other food-borne illnesses, as far as I know.
So, I suppose it wasn't ALL bad.
....but it wasn't good by any means!

Saturday & Sunday....

Well, while everyone else was enjoying a nice Labor Day weekend---I was going to the doctor everyday. That's okay though!

I had an appointment Saturday, and then an appointment Sunday.

Jessica went with me to both because she is my IM (intra-muscular) shot giver.

Saturday after our appointment, we went to Northpark. Hello, Northpark!
{How do I love thee? Let me count the ways!}

We had TONS of fun with sunglasses.....
Jess had to have a pair tightened, and what are two gals to do while we wait? Try on a bazillion pairs...

And we walked the mall....and shopped a bit..... and then it was time for lunch. We were STARVING and wanted to hit the Cheesecake Factory.

Fried macaroni & cheese? Yes, please.

Then what?
The Container Store.
Then what?
Whole Foods.
Then what?
Home.

I really think I overdid it that day with all that walking about with my big ol' ovaries! I went home & rested.

Then what?
Dinner out at Saltgrass with Hubby's family, sock shopping at Dick's, and tv shopping at BestBuy...then Walmart.

Gage and I were bored with tvs and tv stuff....
We had more fun in the toy aisle.

AND---I found this shark bike helmet! How cool is this!?!? Of course, he totally wants this for his birthday, along with some bike lights that tell you how fast the bike is going. Boy stuff.

After that, I was tired. Totally pooped out. I slept soooo well that night!

...and then, Sunday, we were up to do it again. Back to Starbuck's at 9:15, back to the doctor at 10.
This time---we were given the green light, and told to trigger Sunday night. Whoohoooo!
And then what????

I drove Jess down Swiss Ave. and we found the houses used in the GCB show. And, I learned that GCB got cancelled.
Whatev----
We were tourists for a few minutes.

(both houses are having the roof areas worked on...just so you know....)

Then what?
Quick trip to Jack-in-the-box for egg rolls.
Quick trip to Walmart to pick up a tv wall mount.
Then---home.
Nap.
Lounge.
Brisket dinner with James & Jess UNTIL---the big trigger shot.
Wooohoooo!
:)

More from our Tyler trip.....

Gage found some water balloons in the fun drawer at Darnin's house. He just about drove me nuts with those things! They were old, and 2/3 of them would break before they ever got full. and they were tiny, and tying all those little knots...what a pain!

One day we took Gage to Faulkner Park. It's my favorite park in Tyler. Mamasita, Mario, Gage and I all went. Gage had a blast.

Gage also had fun at the splash park part of the park....

And then it was back to the dry playground....

And the boys just HAD to explore the trails in the woods....

And then Gage was thirsty, and possibly for the first time in his life, he drank from a public water fountain.  I think the fact that it looked cool to him played a major role in his decision to try it...

The park was a lot of fun....

That day, we also had Jucy Burgers, which wasn't something I'd ever tried before. YUM-O. And then----Andy's Custard. OMG, delicious! I made it a point to hit Andy's every.single.day that I was there. {How had I never had this before in any of my million trips to Tyler????}

So, that's a little more about our recent trip to Tyler.
There's more....but it will have to wait. I've got a 6 year old beating me with an inflatable guitar and begging me to stop typing. I've clearly gotta go and chase this little one around the house!

Mmmmm....Zanata's to celebrate Annabeth's birthday in May. Yummmm!!!!!

Zanata's: love Zanata's. The food was great, according to the gals---the wine was great. The service was great. Loved it!
