Life Is Just So Daily

Saturday, the 3rd of July.

...has it been a week already????

Saturday, 7/3 was quite a day.
It all started with the annual golf cart parade that we've been attending since Gage was a wee-lad {only 10 months old} and we continue to do it every year.

This year, with all the rain, it was a lot shorter than normal, but no less patriotic!

Pics from the parade....

Before we ever even left the house to head to the parade, Gage was wanting his Easter basket or his Halloween bucket to collect candy.
Well---goodness knows where the Halloween bucket is {we HAVE moved since then!} and the Easter stuff is in the attic. So, I found this little navy jersey draw-string bag that Gage's sheets came in. He was sooooo in luck this year that there weren't THAT MANY participants, but there was still the same amount of candy. That child loaded up on candy.

After that? Why....we were off to the Bass Pro Shop, of course.
{Fo' Real, Yo. Just call that my home-away-from-home. I swear we spend way too much time & $$ there! But I love, love, love that place!}

Gage got his very first fishing pole.... {It's Transformers...}

We all got fishing gear. Then we ate there at the restaurant....the fish & chips were delicious!

After that, we headed back to the marina to wait out the rain that started sprinkling down.... That's where Gage practiced his casting skills...

...and I snapped my current FAVORITE Summer pic of my child!

{can't you just smell the fresh air, the water, the sunscreen, and feel the excitement of Summer?}

Then we were off & fishing as soon as the rain cleared up. Boy did it!

After that, we went & picked up Gage's cousin, Forrest.
Oh, Gage LOVES him.
And there was some tubing....

...until a storm blew in. We retreated to Memaw's house to wait out the storm. When it passed, we brought a whole crew down to the lake with us: Hubby, Gage, me, Hubby's sister, her husband, 3 of their kids....
It was great.
There was more tubing and finally we stopped near the stage where JOAN JETT WAS SINGING; HELLO! IT'S A CONCERT! We were in the water & the stage was on land. We enjoyed hearing the hits {not so much the other songs that I've never heard before...} and of course, Gage fell asleep...he was so sleepy in this next picture...

And then the fireworks! Oh my, oh my! The fireworks! Gage woke up for the fireworks, but watched them from his comfy-laid-back position. Right there over the lake, it was like the were doing the fireworks show just for us. It was amazing!

Of course, it was after midnight when we got home, and Gage wanted to take a bath before getting into his clean sheets....so this little sleepy boy didn't get into bed until after 1am!

In the end---a WONDERFUL day was had by all.

I love that summer pic of him. You should have it blown up and framed. Looks like you all had a blast. Country life suits you. Can't wait to see you Tuesday. Hope I can remember where you live.
