The LATEST news from The Casa de Lainey-Paney!

WARNING: THE FOLLOWING IS FREAKY-DEAKY.

SOMEONE around here is PREGNANT!
I'm going to be a big sister!
That's right.
My dad & his wife are expecting a baby.
I'll be....32 years older than this sibling.
Talk about CRAZY!
How many people can say that, right?

Children are a gift from God, and this baby should be making his or her debut this Summer. Every child deserves to be excited about, and so I am. It's new life. It's exciting.

Now---onto more pressing issues: Where can I get one of THESE in my size???

And, when I first heard the news---it may have truly been the first time in my life where I was just utterly speechless.
SPEECH-LESS: without speech...nothing came out. And the silence may have been followed by, "I'm sorry, what?"
Yeah. I'm going to be the big sister.
I'll be 50 when he or she turns 18.
50. FIFTY.

........I need a drink.

Congrats on being a big sister! I'm so glad that you are celebrating the news because every baby deserves happiness around them.

well, that's a *fine* christmas gift. some people are natural at picking out the perfect gift- they have the knack. i'm not. if i was your sister, you would have gotten towels or some pretty slippers.

Wow. Congrats! lol. Wow. Insane. I have kids the same age as my mom, but yeah, you still have me beat.

I am fine, I'm alive... I hope to post soon. I just still feel like crap all of the time and am tired of hearing it myself. Hugs.

Well! Congrats on your new sibling-to-be. If it makes you feel any better at all, I am 23 years older than my biological father's youngest child. I never had to spend any holidays with any of them though!

I like your attitude about the whole thing. It's a new little baby, and they are wonderful. I'm assuming your Dad and his wife are happy. That's not half-bad, either. Whew. You can do this!

My father is also remarried and I have a 3yo little sister. I am 31 years old and have two kids older than my sister. It is definitely a different experience.
