Updated Nursery Picture....

Okay...the nursery is 98% done.
I still need to clean the floors, and touch up a few spots on the paint (which I am totally dreading....but I am very aware that it needs to be done).

So look at what we did!!!!

****in the above picture, please disregard the cord mess behind the shelves...we need to get those under control....so I suppose I can put that on today's to-do list!

....now, the stripes on the wall make the room look so....busy. But, we love it. And....Gage & GrandDaddy even spent a pretty good chunk of time in there playing!

And then this morning............well, it looks like we may soon have a problem...

Climbing out of the crib already! I fear the day when Porgie learns this trick. I am fairly sure that she will never sleep again after that point.

It's awesome!

Both my boys were out of the crib at 15 months! Looks like Gage is well on his way to escape :-)

Yep! Time for a toddler bed. I absolutely love the walls and don't think it is busy but my neighbors think I am nuts for painting my walls red.

I am curious though, what color is the celling? It looks like it might not be white. i have always wanted to paint my ceilings a different color but am chicken...not of how it will look but of how hard it will be.

It's gorgeous - I love it!
Can I move in? (Minus the crib.)

zephra---no, the ceiling is white. it must have just been the lighting...
but i agree---i want to try a painted ceiling...but, not in this house i don't think. it's an old house, so the ceilings are not very high. i'm afraid that painting the ceiling will make the rooms look even more closed in....

WOW!!! The nursey looks incredible! I love it you all did a great job!! Gage is so lucky! I wish my room had been so cool when I was a kid. Enjoy it!

Outstanding job on the nursery! Poor Tyler was in the guest bedroom until we put him in the same room as his big brother. The "nursery" with him consisted of a quilt my grandmother made, hanging behind his bed. That's it! Yours should be in a magazine, girl!

I think it looks really good!
Remember the kitchen/bathroom window post from a while back? What did you decide on the bathroom one? (This just reminded me of it).

BTW, where did you find the white book rack hanging on the wall? We're looking for something like that for K.

love it! you've done a great job!

my girls hated their cribs. we put them in a twin size trundle bed at 14 months. it was the first time they went to sleep without us having to hold them.

they can definitely wander to your room then at night though!

this is exactly why brandon just got himself a fancy new twin bed this weekend!

S-- got the book rack @ Pottery Barn Kids. I've shopped at that store exactly ONE TIME. The parking at my local store totally sucks, so I just haven't been back.

Kitchen windows: blinds.
Bathroom windows: white shutters w/ a little beaded sheer curtain at the top.

Hey friend, what a fabulous job you've done. Been off the grid for a bit and just spent an hour or so catching up with you on your blog.

I'm praying for you kiddo. I know you and your remarkable family will get through the tough times.

xoxo

The nursery looks amazing! We did stripes once and I know how long it can take, but they definitely are worth it.

Holy Crap. I love it. The stripes are amazing!!!!

Can you come paint our rooms?

I love the stripes. T's room has green, blue and purple stripes on 2 of his walls. I didn't do it as neat as Gage's though. I just hand taped various stripe widths.
We went from the crib right to a twin bed, but we just had it on the floor on the boxspring, but no frame. This way he could fall out of it, which he did, and not hurt himself.
That is a beautiful peaceful room.

OMG, it's gorgeous! I can't even begin to imagine how much work it was to get the walls looking that perfect. I'm a mite bit jealous actually.

Wow! It looks awesome, Lainey! Really awesome! Well done and thanks for sharing with everyone.

Chunk's room is getting better, but it's a constant state of insanity. We've been putting his toys in those big plastic bins to try to stay organized, but his room is starting to look more like Costco than a cozy place for the little guy to play. Ugh.
