Reporting LIVE from Salt Lake City!

okay...it's only "live" while I'm typing it...but whatever.

What time is it?
It's Sunday morning...I know that much.
SLC vs. DFW: Are we behind in SLC by one hour or two? I dunno. I didn't really pay attention to the whole, "Welcome to Salt Lake City. Local time is..." announcement when the plane landed.
(perhaps I should have...)
And then there's the whole daylight savings time thing.
So...all I know for certain is this: I'm in Salt Lake City. It's cold outside. It's early. So I'm drinking coffee & trying to be quiet, so as not to wake the husband.

Want to hear about yesterday?
[if the answer is no, then read no further. navigate away from this page.]

So...we head out to the airport...

We make it to the airport.
Get checked in.
"Would you like to upgrade to 1st class for $45.00?"
...hmmm....sure. sounds like a deal, right?
I mean, when we bought the tickets there was a cost difference of a few hundred dollars per ticket for the upgrade. seems like they (airline) wants to use this final opportunity to get more money...but, it seemed like a good opportunity for Mimosas & leg room (not that it's really a problem for me...)
So, we do it.
Yippy! So excited!

We board.
Within no time, there was a smile plastered to my face as I was sipping a Mimosa!

Well...turns out that we had a layover in Oklahoma City, not Denver. Total flight time: 32 minutes. Just as my Mimosa was poured & I took a few drinks...here comes the flight attendant to take cups & trash, as we were making our descent into Oklahoma City.
Great. There's ninety bucks well spent.
I just paid $45 for 1/2 a Mimosa.

Welcome to OKC!
You know you are in Oklahoma when...

All of the restrooms are also tornado shelters.
["Please Lord, don't ever make me use this restroom as a tornado shelter!"]

And then we board to Salt Lake.
No, the 1st class upgrade does not carry us through. Why? Because there is no 1st class to SLC. The plane only holds 50-something passengers.
It was...not super small, but pretty small.
Damon almost didn't fit on the plane!

Okay...I'll wrap up more details about Saturday later.
Damon's waking up, and he's on my tail about getting off the internet & getting ready for our day of adventure. Which...will start with a trip to the store to buy ski clothes. (I'll post why...later.)

That picture of him standing on the plane is freaking hilarious. I will be thinking of you today when I am outside watering my new spring flowers in the 80 degree weather. Have fun.

I have been to SLC once in my entire life and what I recall the most was how clean that city was and that the friend that I visited didn't have a/c. They had something called a "swamp cooler" on their roof.

Funny the things you remember.
