Fertility Family....
So, we've become a part of this big group of patients who've had success at the fertility clinic where we conceived via IVF. We're a part of the 'fertility family,' I suppose!
Every year, they invite families back for a big Easter Egg Hunt that the practice puts on. By practice, I mean: the RE (Reproductive Endocrinologist), his wife (who is on staff there as office personnel), the Embryologist/Andrologist, and the other staff members. Our clinic is a very small clinic, without 12 nurses and 8 doctors, and faces that get lost in a crowd. No, it's a small practice, and you get the doctor's cell number to call in an emergency, and very individualized care. We cannot sing enough praises about the way we were treated while patients there, and continue to be treated as part of their "Fertility Family."
:)
So.....here are pictures from our 1st Easter Egg Hunt with them....
Gage had a BLAST on the inflatable maze/climb/slide thingy. They also had face painting, bubbles, craft tables, snacks, a train, a petting zoo, a dj, contests.....all kinds of fun things!
The actual egg hunt is cah-razy! This whole park area is inside the campus of Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas (BUMC, or "Big Baylor" as it's known in our area). It's a beautiful and open area, and the perfect setting for this Easter gathering. There were MORE THAN ENOUGH eggs for all of the kids to fill their baskets & then some!
(Okay, it may be hard to see in those little pics above, but the whole area beyond the pond is speckled with bright colored eggs for all the kiddos to run & collect!)
Gage had a wonderful time. Well, we all did!
Here I am with Dr.Marynick, our RE.... We adore him!
Sadly, we didn't get pictures with "Dr.Juan CP" as I call him (the Embryologist/Andrologist who did some amazing work to help us), or Jami, the RockStar Nurse!
....but we will. We will have a baby girl soon, and I will take her up there for all to see! ....and we will get LOTS of pictures!
All of our struggles through infertility were not our plans for ourselves....but they were a part of THE plan for our family. How many blessings have we received along the way in the years of this journey? Too many to count. We've met new people, forged through hard times together, seen the valleys and mountain-tops together, and found the humor in this very non-traditional way of pro-creating! I've bonded with friends in different ways, and learned so very much along this journey too. I certainly didn't wish this on us, and wouldn't wish it upon anyone.....but it has been fruitful for us and enriching in so many ways. Our journey was exactly what we needed it to be....
...and we are so blessed!

What a special event for your clinic to put on and see many of the families they have impacted in one place. I love that you call yourselves a family. That picture of you and your doc is the sweetest; he looks like he genuinely cares.
