Conversation from a Marriage...

We join this conversation already in progess:

Hubby: "Would it kill you to shut those doors before you get in bed?"
Me: "It might. Is that a risk you're willing to take?"
Hubby, looking dumbfounded as if to say, "did she really just say that? that shutting doors might actually kill her..."
Me: "Are you prepared to raise our son on your own?"
Hubby: "Yes, I think I am."

.....never a dull moment, my friends.

Well . . . so what happened? Did anybody close the doors? Will he be a single dad? Inquiring minds are left hanging!

The doors...oh, he gets so frustrated if I don't close the door from the kitchen to the dining room, and then the doors going to the hallway. (we live in an old house, built in '49, and I swear, you can shut EVERY room off with a door).

So, I think, "no big deal". He thinks, "if the dog barks, he'll wake the baby." He likes the doors closed.

We have this conversation (or similar conversations) no less than 4 times a week.

In the end, he's usually frustrated, or gives me the "you're an idiot" look!

We have the same conversation but it's about lights that are left on rather than doors that are left open.

Hmmm...shall we call it the war of words between two very clever people? Being the son of you two, I just cannot wait to hear what will be coming out of Gage's mouth in a few short years! BWAHAHAHAHA! And I want to come play on Gage's "swing set" which is really so much more than a swing set. NICE...VERY, VERY NICE!
