Today...

Well...I'm 29 years old. I had a first today.

I MOWED THE YARD!

Yes...that's right...little ol' me. I mowed the whole darn thing. By myself, during Gage's naptime.

How impressive??? Right??? I know.
;)

As I was mowing, I decided that the neighbors must think Damon left me or something...b/c I have never in all my life mowed the yard.

And....Lord help me if anyone was watching as I tried to start the damn mower. Oh, what a sight. I got the back done, and then I almost couldn't get it started again to do the front. Yeah....gasoline helps with that.
Anyway...I did it. And, I'm soooooo proud of myself.

I was hot as hell by the end & drank from the waterhose & drenched myself to cool off. Then I felt guilty b/c Gage was sleeping & I was having fun in the hose....

I didn't tell Damon that I mowed...just to see if he would notice when he got home.
Oh, he noticed. By then, Gage & I had taken a bath & gone to the play area at a local mall for some playtime in the a/c. We played there for almost 2 hours. Good times!

:)

So...anyway...I am just as proud of myself as I could possibly be.
29...and another first down.

Ok, I must commend you on that feat! I have never mowed the lawn and I'm 35. I'm afraid that I'll screw it up. I guess I should just get out there and do it, huh?

Yeah, I never mowed a lawn, until we got a tractor! And I freakin' love it. I put on my ipod and my hat and get out there in the solitude. That's right, silence, no babies. I just veg as I tool around on the tractor. Fabulous. Of course, my husband hates it because I take away his tractor time.

Congrats! I'm impressed!

The last time I really mowed I was using an old-school rotary blade mower that you push and Reagan was president. Now our yard is so tiny you can use a weed whacker. And I still do everything I can to get out of doing it. :)

Very impressive. Personally, I have never mowed a lawn, and I don't really want to start. Once my husband knows I can do something, he'll expect me to do it again. Crazy bastard.

Good for you.

My husband would faint if I ever tired that.

I always have to mow here. As a matter of fact, the last time I went out of town for a week, my husband cut the grass. When I got home 6 of my neighbors came over to tell me how they all came out to watch such a strange site and to rate his work. My husband mowing is apparently an event.

I have never mowed the lawn. You are awesome and more of a women than I am. I have no desire to get sweaty and full of grass clippings. Plus I wouldn't want to ruin any of my shoes.

I don't mind gardening though...

WOW! Why would you want to do that? I have never cut the grass and don't want to. I have ridden the tractor plenty of times but it was not to cut it was to plant. So, what did Damon say?

Oh---he was floored. And, I wasn't home when he got home...so he called me & asked, "Who cut the grass?" He thought I did it---but then thought better of that---and assumed I hired someone to do it.
Um---no! I did it. He was very impressed & then began calling just about everyone to tell them...

My mother in law said, "What ARE YOU DOING? DON'T YOU KNOW THAT WE DON'T HAVE TO DO THAT SHIT ANYMORE. WE DON'T HAVE TO PROVE ANYTHING TO ANYONE!" She later said, "well, if you do it, pretty soon the word will get out, and my husband will me asking me to mow OUR yard...and I'm not gonna do it."

It was pretty funny.

Oh and I should mention that I mowed the lawn once. Gavin said I'm not allowed to mow the lawn ever again (he was worried I was going to mow my foot off). No complaints here!

That's very impressive! I had to mow some growing up, but I've only mowed once since being married. Our lawn mower didn't have the self-propel thing and I thought I was going to die! Way to go!

Hmm. I like doing the yardwork.

We have a ride on mower so it's almost like fun.
I've only done it a few times. Mostly when Joe had his broken rib, and a few other times when he was working a lot of overtime and couldn't "get to it".

I used to love mowing the lawn! We've lived in apartments for so long now, though, that it's been years since I last touched a lawn mower.

I will give you directions to my house. Our riding mower has given up the ghost and we are having to mow it in sections with the push mower-did I mention that it is about 5 acres...and 106 degrees...

So, you take I-65 south through Montgomery....

I've never mowed, either. My husband says "there's a trick to it" and won't let me. I think it's a macho thing. Fine by me!
