Random Things About Me....

So, I got nominated for this Liebster Blogging Award thing, twice now, and I never really participated in it, and for whatever reason, this time I'm going to.

I'm supposed to do a whole lot of self-disclosure stuff for it, and I'm not much of a rule follower, so basically, I'm just going to answer the 11 random questions posed by (Project Make a Baby... http://ourprojectmakeababy.blogspot.com)

...and the questions are:

1.  What is your favorite T.V. show?

Downton Abbey

2.  If we were on a road trip and I went into a convenience store to get you a snack, what should it be?

Sunflower seeds. The salt seems to stave off the car-sickness.

3.  What is your favorite book from childhood?

Hmmm.... The Legend of the Bluebonnet and probably the Mrs. Piggle Wiggle series.

4.  How many pillows do you sleep with?

Right now, I primarily sleep with my Snoogle pregnancy pillow that my mother got me.
5.  How do you drink your coffee or tea?
Tea: Iced & unsweetened.
6.  What is your favorite dinner recipe?
Recipe to cook, or recipe to eat, because those are two totally different things! I prefer to cook as little as possible, and I prefer to eat out or what others have prepared for me as much as possible!
7.  What kind of car do you drive?
Infiniti.
8.  What is your favorite kind of shampoo?
TIGI Oatmeal & Honey. {MMMmmmmm! It smells like cake batter!}
9.  What is your least favorite food?
Liver.
10.  Describe your best friends in three words.
Funny, fabulous, kind.
11.  What song is currently on repeat on your iPod/MP3 player/CD player?
...I don't have anything that's on repeat right now!

7 things about me...

1. I want to be buried in my "good bra." You know---the one that holds the girls in juuuuust the right way so that they're pointing to Heaven & I don't look like a 10 year old boy laying in a coffin. Morbid, yes, I know. But hey---I'm supposed to list 7 things that people might not really know about me...so there's one.

2. My feet are usually cold & my hands are usually HOT. Like flashing hot.

3. I love "shopping" in my mother's closet, and she's lucky that I didn't take her strappy buckled Cole Haan heels when I left there...

4. I DVR Young & The Restless. I know it's sad & pathetic & what not. But I can't help my silly self! {shhhh....don't tell!}

5. I love hominy.

6. My favorite author is Dorothy Parker.

7. I would rather load the dishwasher than unload it.

Honest Scrap...

I was nominated by The House of Twinsanity {http://houseoftwinsanity.blogspot.com} for the honest scrap award. The idea behind this is to share 10 things about yourself that other bloggers may not already know...

And so....here we go....

1. I love flip-flops. Love 'em, Love 'em, Love 'em.

2. When I die, I'm okay with the idea of being cremated & having my ashes spread at Northpark. I heart that mall...

3. Everyone seems to love Orange Cup except me. Unflavored yogurt like that? Gag me with a spoon! {yes, I did just type that.}

4. I hate paying bills. Suck at it too. Due when? That's really more of a suggestion, right? I prefer soft dates and deadlines. I used to have a system that Hubby laughed at (and opened his eyes in huuuuuge surprise): "I pay the red bills." He said, "the what?"...the red ones: the ones they send right before they turn your shit off. Guess what: as soon as Hubby & I got together---he took over the bill paying.

5. I'm allergic to erythromycin & codeine.

6. I've had braces---twice. Why? Because like due dates on bills, I took the "wear your retainer" comment as more of a suggestion than a requirement.

7. I also used to wear a head gear. How cool is that? You're all jealous. I know.

8. I love fruit smoothies. No yogurt---just fruit, ice, and a little juice {okay, and sometimes rum}.

9. I don't facebook. Although I can understand how many are addicted....

10. I like to blog-hop & see all the 7 degrees of separation. I haven't linked myself back to Kevin Bacon yet, but I'm sure that I will in time....

Hmmmm....

There are soooooooooooo many blogs that I like to read, and different things that I like to read about. I don't know....I like to read about real people in their real lives, about the joys & pains, the struggles, and the real life situations that we all go through. some are situations that I've never been in, and some are situations that I have been in....so, to me....that makes for powerful writing. you write about what you know, and where you are.

VampDaddy's posts have brought me to tears more than once. and then, he can somehow sometimes put a humorous spin on things (see his post about the drugs used to treat his son's cancer....)
