Bahama Mama (Part III)

The slides...oh, the slides.... See this slide here? Damon rode this one....

You go straight down into what appears to be shark-infested waters. Obviously, you are in a tube that travels through the shark tank. So, you're not in danger of mixing in the shark waters, but I'm sure it crosses every rider's mind!
That's what you go through.... Cool, right???

There are very few things at Atlantis that were impressive to me, but the slides were.Check out the exit of one of the slides...

And check this one (below) out: it's the look-out at the beginning of a tube-slide. It was cool.
Daddy & Gage gearing up for the other tube ride...
Then you go through these windy, channels with sporadic rapids....and tubes. Good times...

The Lazy River was fun too.....

There's this ramp thing in the midst of the lazy river ride and it takes you up....and then down....and then back into the water. Gage loved it...

The smaller slides were fun for Gage as well...

The children's area was neat. Crazy though...it doesn't open at the same time as some other pools...it should be the first thing open. Kids wake up at the butt-crack of dawn, and so should that pool. I'm just sayin'....

Sooooo, speaking of pools....there are like 19 pools there. (I could be way off on that number, and I could actually look it up to report an accurate number of pools....but I'm lazy.) There are so many pools and not enough time. Some of the pools are adult-only (I had to ask a friend, how adult only are we talking???), but many are for families. Still---there are so many pools, we didn't swim in half of them....
We still managed to have fun in the few pools we got in!

And FINALLY, at about 10 minutes to closing time, we found the hot tubs....and it was EMPTY.
How AWESOME is this hot tub???

So, while I have my complaints/let-downs about Atlantis, the slides and pools were pretty freaking awesome. At the very least, they were unlike any I've seen anywhere. So, that was impressive.
:)
