Gage's 8th Birthday!

Yes, we are still playing catch up from September, and I just have to post about Gage's birthday. He described it as "The Best Birthday EVER."
{Parents SCORE!}

Early in his day he got to open a gift from Sister...
(clearly, it was after he'd eaten something blue...)

Awww, Sister knows him so well....it was Legos! In fact, it was a Lego VW bus that he could assemble independently. Yay, Sister!
When party time approached, what happened??? A limo showed up! Woohooo!
{As an aside: Gage normally has big parties and invites all of the kids in his class and all of his little friends...and all that jazz. This year, he wanted to go on a limo ride to Medieval Times....so, Mommy and Daddy had to limit the guest list. He got to bring 3 friends only. He was okay with that in the end, and appreciated that we could do these really cool things when you have a smaller group. Moving on....}

When his 3 guests arrived, we did cupcakes and gifts very quickly in the house....

....and then it was time to load up!

Gage was excited that he could stand up in the limo. It was some kind of Lincoln SUV limo. He loved it. Now, what's that in the last picture above??? Why, that's 4 little boys dancing to Gangnam Style in the back of a limo. What 8 year old boy DOESN'T want to do that!?

We had to arrive at Medieval Times early for all of the birthday package benefits. These little guys were eager to get in...
Inside, we went for the up-sale of tickets to the little museum inside (you know, since we had so much time to kill). LET ME TELL YOU: it's a torture chamber museum and it is NOT for children. We got around the first bend and it seemed to get progressively sadistic. We turned on our heels and marched those kiddos out of there. It was NOT for us!

What was for us??? Oh, getting the whole group knighted! Yaaaaaaay!

We had a little time to kill so we watched the horses in their stalls and snapped a few pics before we got to file into our seating area...

We were assigned seats right under the King and Princess. It was great! The kids loved being in the front row and Sonny, one of the actors, made a big to-do over Gage and his entourage. It was sweet. Sonny played the role of the narrator.... I know that's not the right title, but the actual title escapes me right now. One of the boys at the party is H. His grandmother and Sonny are friends, so she put a bug in his ear to do it up big for H & his friend. He didn't disappoint and the boys loved it.
:)

Let the show begin!

Sadly, our knight didn't win....but the boys had a blast regardless.

After dinner and cake there, we got to file back into the limo for the ride home...
We had the limo drop each boy off at his home, and I think all of the boys had a great time. I know Gage did....
