Welcome to Vail.
So, we got to Denver on Saturday, and got our rental car.
Then, we drove to Vail.
We stopped in at Vail Village to have lunch...
Been to Vail?
It's like being on the Swiss Miss box!
After lunch, we checked into the Vail Mountain Resort & Spa.
Got a great deal on the room.....and then we found out why:
Check out that view!
And so of course, we asked to change rooms.
No such luck: the Vail JazzFest was going on, and it was going on AT our hotel. So, the place was completely full.
:(
Oh well...We weren't going to spend THAT much time in the hotel room anyway.
So, we set off on our first of many walks down this path....
And then rode the gondola up to the top of the mountain, where they had fun stuff for kiddos, and we adults enjoyed the view...
Gage enjoyed the "Dino Dig."
And then we came back down, and just enjoyed the views....
And Gage got to play in the creek... {Gore Creek, I think...}
And Gage was excited to see Pine Cones!
Guess what!?
His mommy had the bright idea for him to just reach on into the tree & pick up the pine cone that appeared to be resting so effortlessly on the branches...
Um....yeah, here's what happened when he touched the prickly needles:
{I'll expect a HUGE trophy for 'Mother of the Year'.}
But, to help this child feel a bit better, we took him swimming in the outdoor heated pool.
Ummm...the pool wasn't THAT warm! "Hot Tub, Here I Come!"
Needless to say, it was much warmer in the little hot tub...
And it didn't take long for this little guy to be OUT.
In fact, Gage & I ordered room service, and Gage was OUT before the food arrived. I tried several times to wake him, but with no luck. He was so tired from such a long day....That, and he totally loves hotels....
...it was a good day. A very good day.

Oh, If you think it's pretty now; you should see it in the WINTER! It's like you are in a magical snowglobe. It's so amazing there. Chris and I were there 2 winters ago. Went snowboarding....You MUST go back when it's snowing! I am glad you guys are having fun. Enjoy!

So beautiful!!! I am jealous! Oh, and don't think us Texans didn't notice the long-sleeves. I yearn for those temperatures!!!
Who doesn't love staying in a hotel?
