2/9/10: I got a ticket. "What do you mean I didn't stop?"

I would just like to say, that if my car stops---that's a stop.
This whole "3 second thing"....what thah....

I got pulled over by a cop on foot.
Really?
Really.

Alleged Violation: failure to stop "good enough."
Well----if I am a "not-good-enough-stopper," why would you (Mr.Ticket-Master) step in front of my moving car, and hold your jazz hand straight forward signaling me to stop? You already think that I don't stop well, so you place yourself in harm's way?
How much sense does that make?

Needless to say---I got a ticket.
And of course, Gage was with me.
He was soooooooo freaked out that we were going to jail.
{Where he came up with this, I don't know.}
I assured him that we were not going to jail...
So, I get my ticket from Mr.Ticket-Master {who, I will say was very, very nice about the whole incident}, and Gage instantly wants to see the ticket. So, I give it to him. Afterall---I don't want it.

A second or two later, what comes out of my child's mouth?
"Can I take it to show-and-tell!!!????"

No, Gage.
No, you cannot.

Ahhhh....Tuesday----thank goodness it's over!

Thanks for commenting on my blog. I read along with yours every day... love the new house BTW.

Wow, starting school at almost 6 there!?

Guy will start next year, having just turned 5... but I'm sure his 3 days of pre-school this year will have him good and ready.

Glad to hear Gage is enjoying his pre-school. I read about his girlfriend M. Guy hasn't mentioned any girls yet... but he does like to put "jelly" in his hair so he can be "handsome"!

Are you kidding me!? I would be so ticked if I got a ticket from a cop on foot. I can't believe a cop on foot had the gall to actually "pull you over." Hope it wasn't too expensive.

"Can I take it for show-and-tell." BWAHAHAHAHA! Your kid truly is a genius...and getting funnier all the time! I just love him...

But I am sorry about the ticket; there are some things that just don't seem right, and this is one of them. I just hope that "now you'll know better for next time" and you will stop better, so Mr. TicketMaster doesn't have to risk life and limb just to keep the streets safe from bad stoppers like you! :)

And...beautiful new house! Congratulations...can't wait for decorating pix!

Awww.. come on mum.. let him take it to show and tell.

That is weird.. Did you even try to negotiate the ticket with the guy?

There was a story recently out of the UK about an over-zealous cop that gave someone a ticket for littering when they came out of a shop and dropped a 10 pound note. The cop picked up the note, gave it back to the owner then gave him a ticket... now that is serious dinner party conversation!

Better than a joke – real life humour! (Except for the fine.)
I think you should let Gage take the ticket for Show & Tell – “My Mom – The Lawbreaker.”

I've seen cops on bikes, but never on foot patrol. Wow.
That's so funny about the show and tell. Would love to see the teacher's expression over that one.
