Master Bath....So far.
Well, we've made great progress.
The contract is in place.
The work should start around the 11th.
We bought the tile.
12x12, or 13x13 (I forget!) porcelein tile; kind of a tan color. Bought it at a local Habitat for Humanity store, so $$ goes to a good cause. $276 for all that tile! {20 boxes of 15 tiles}
Decided on two pedestal sinks, although I would LOVE to do a double apothecary sink.
And, I found some GREAT mirrors on Craigslist! Wooohoooo! Kudos for the savings!
{Thanks Blaine & Jessica for reminding me of using Craigslist for remodel savings!}
I found THESE mirrors from Restoration Hardware on Craigslist!
Mirrors (x2) from the Craigslist posting:
We probably won't be doing a tub in the master bath.
The other bathroom, which we recently re-did, has a tub/shower combo. Plumbing limitations are an issue for this room---so we'll be doing a shower, toilet, and two sinks. On two walls. If we added a tub, we'd have to run plumbing to another wall. And, we're fine with just the shower.
Inspiration pics for the new bathroom:
{yes, I already posted one of these...}
Lisa asked about pics of our other bathroom that we renovated earlier this year, so here are some pictures of our current MAIN bathroom {as this house was built in '49, and has no "master bath"}.
Now, I will say that life without a truck is different.
Hubby no longer has a truck. He hasn't for over a year now. But, occasionally, we really feel the difference!
Like---yesterday.
Buying 20 boxes of 15 tiles each---well, it would have been nice to have a truck!
Not considering weight as a transport factor whatsoever, I was convinced that we could put 20 boxes of tile in the trunk of the Acura. It has a huuuuuuuuuuuge trunk. But, Hubby quickly began spouting stuff about the weight, and a drive shaft, yada-yada-yada. I dunno---apparently drive shafts are important & what not. So, we took a load home, unloaded, and then took both of our cars back to get the rest.
We have the tile.
We'll have the mirrors today.
We've picked out the sinks, but haven't gotten them yet.
Shower to be done by the contractor.
Still need to pick out: lights, faucets...and a million other things....

Totally love what you picked out so far. I was thinking about they style faucet we were talking about with the X handle and I think it would be nice...especially when you consider the age of the house.
Love your inspiration photos. Great style.
Looks soooo good! I need to add you to my update list, so I can remember to look at your blog! BTW, your sweet boy is A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E!!! Too cute :)
Very nice! We just finished a major bathroom renovation ourselves, and were surprised by all the work it took! Good luck!
