Fort Worth Zoo !
Today, to celebrate Mother's Day, we went to the Fort Worth Zoo.
I haven't been there in years!
Here's the Rhino's Eye.
Can I just say---we were close enough to the Rhino to TOUCH him. It was wild.
It was a good time...
We were there from around 11 this morning until after 4pm! We rode the train, which Gage LOVED.
So far, it's been a GRRRREAT Day!

The Ft. Worth Zoo is AWESOME!
I used to visit the grandma of a friend when I was little who lived over there...in the early morning, you could hear the lions and monkeys - talk about wild!
Looks like a great time.
I have zoo envy. Our zoo consists of some goats and donkeys and a blind bear. It is really pathetic.
I took Ella to Marine World a week before Easter, and she loved all the animals. They brought out an elephant and bathed it in front of us, we could of reached out and touched it, it was amazing.
What an excellent idea for spending Mother's Day!
It's a great zoo, isn't it? The last time I was there, my 3-yr-old "niece" decided that I needed a nickname, loved the hippos, and voila! I became Auntie Hippo. =)
I want to go to the zoo! I am glad you had such a great day with your guys!
We did the zoo today, TOO. It was such a blast. What fun pictures!! ;)
Loved the pix--especially the first one of just you and Gage--VERY CUTE. I also liked the one of Gage studying the Safari Guide...hehehe. I'm glad you had such a good Mother's Day, Lainey!
Your little guy has the sweetest smile and the most adorable (occasional) pensive expression on his face.
Glad you had a great Mother's Day!
Looks like a wonderful day! Happy Mother's Day!
What flavor of ice cream is he eating?! Looks like you had a wonderful Mother's Day!
Looks like you had a great day. My kids love the zoo! We are hoping to make it down to the Bronx Zoo in New York this summer!
Kimmy
I love the FW zoo. It is way better than Dallas. Everything at Dallas is up hill.
Looks like you guys had an awesome day!
Happy Mother's Day Lainey!!!
i must know what flavor ice cream that is he is eating...is it like superman ice cream or something?
How fun!!! Those are great pictures of you and Gage. Happy Mother's Day...a day late! :)
Happy Belated Mother's Day! Great pics. Especially the one of Gage reading the map.
What a fun day! I think the ice cream Gage is eating looks so tasty (my tastebuds have apparently never grown up!) Glad you had a nice day.
I'm having a giveaway over at my blog. Please come enter!
"KRAZY KOLORS" ice cream. It was so....crazy.
It tastes like vanilla, (or the red part anyway...), but it's all yellow & red & blue. Very...BRIGHT. Of course that's the one he chose.
Those picture came out perfect. I have no idea what kind of ice cream Gage is eating though? Looks like fun all around.
Oh, wait, nevermind, I just read your comment above mine about the ice cream flavor!
What is it about guys insisting that all they need is the map, they don't need to ask for directions, despite that fact that they can't even find where they're at on the map to begin with, much less get to their destination?!?! ACH!! MEN!!
Just kidding! That picture is too cute!
Oh my gosh, I was an army brat and actually lived/grew up in the fort worth area... Didn't know you were close!
Glad your mommys day was awesome!Someone brought up that mothers day was just created for hallmark, to which a quick-witted friend was like... "don't you think women deserve a day for pushing out a 9 pound crotch fruit?" To which Idiot male replied "that's what labor day is for". BAH.
I was going to ask what kind of ice cream he was eating too but apparently a dozen people beat me to it....so, now I know!!! I love the zoo! We have already taken Rachel twice! ;)
