Motherhood is...is...well, it's eventful. It's better than I ever imagined, and yet harder than I expected. It's definitely a learning process for me. I'm so sorry. And a little surprised. Is this boss usually lacking in interpersonal/people management skills?
I hope today is a better day!
Heidi
ugh, sorry you have to deal with that.
I'm going through my own boss hell so I can understand your frustration.
would it help if I said it's friday and you didn't have to deal with work shit for a couple days?
It's very telling, isn't it. Is this the first time she has disrespected you, or is this a common thing?
It's a value statement, and she is making a big one. I'd definitely enjoy the weekend and let things simmer in your heart. Sometimes the holidays make everyone a little wacky. But when you do talk to your boss, you should probably tell her that you were a bit disappointed that she couldn't take the time to talk with you about your concerns.
Big hugs! xoxo
hmmm, i wonder who this boss is?
I am sorry Lainey. I hope things at work get better soon.
I'm sorry Lainey. I definitely agree with mamalee: when you talk with her next week about your frustrations (because you ARE going to follow up, right?) you should mention that you didn't appreciate (or whatever) that she blew you off when you were trying to talk with her.
Work sucks, doesn't it? I was having a problem for a while with my boss making ageist comments to me, i.e. "I don't want the clients to talk with you on the phone and hear your kids in the background." Or "I don't want them to meet you face to face and see that you're only 31." As though 31 is fresh out of high school and incompetent. Argh. He backed off after I started producing results, but I was thisclose to going off on his ageist self.
Anyways... I feel your pain. Will be thinking about you.
Have a good holiday!!
