Life Is Just So Daily

This blog is sooo lagging.

Let me just say that I sat down today to blog about E's birthday.
Well, the computer wouldn't connect to the network. It was at a point in my day when the beds were made, the house was clean, the baby was napping, laundry was going, and I had five damn minutes for myself. Well, lo & behold if the doorbell didn't ring a few seconds after I started cursing the situation, and it was all a mute point anyway.... Five minutes for myself? What was I thinking??? Life would take care of that.

Clearly right now, I've carved out a few minutes to update the blog, but mentally, I'm just not there right now. I'm frustrated with a lot of things lately, but right this minute: it's the fact that the camera roll on my iphone is full. Every other picture prompts the "too full" message and this pocket-sized gadget forces me to choose which image to erase. I hate the guilt and the pressure! So....anyway, I've had a problem getting the pictures exported from my phone to my PC, and this is a new problem for me. Same PC. Same phone. So, what's going on!?!? I've googled it and tried to problem solve, and it may be a simple fix such as updating iTunes, but for whatever reason it's "not responding" to me today. It must be able to sense my mood.

So---I have a bazillion things that I could and should blog about.
Technology is just not on my side these days.

Everything will just have to wait.

One.

I cannot believe it has been a year since this sweet little girl was born. It's amazing to think of how quickly the time has flown....

We were in love from the very moment we dreamed of her!
...and one year ago today, we met our daughter.

It is just so hard to believe that a whole year has passed. It's hard to even explain how many ways our lives have changed. She is just such a blessing to us all.

Happy Birthday, Sweet Girl. We love you!

Hostess with the Mostest!

Well, not long after Easter, Eliette and I headed to Tyler to co-host a baby shower, in honor of Little Miss Lara Grace, who will soon be joining our family.

Well, I played Hostess (barely) and Eliette was the Mostest! Fo' real! If all eyes weren't on her, she just wasn't having it... "Oh, I'm not the star today? Well nobody told me. We will just have to see about that!"
Casey, the mom to be, had a bazillion gifts to open, and Eliette tried to be right there in the middle of it all. I tried to entertain her with snacks and whatever we could find.

It's just amazing to me to think about how far we've come in a year. About a year before this shower, many of these same women all came together for my shower. There I sat at Casey's shower, thinking about that. It was hard to believe that in just a year, my baby was born, here and grown to the point of walking and twirling about in my mom's living room. Just crazy. Wonderfully crazy.

...and when the party was over, one little girl was happy to be entertained by Buddy (Darnin & PawPaw's dog). See....Buddy's so big and strong...and mischevious at times that he and Bitty (our nickname for Eliette) don't get to actually BE around each other all that much. When Buddy's not super-excited and calms-the-f%*#-down, he's pretty awesome.

Where's Buddy?

Oh, here he comes! Thank you, PawPaw.

Yay! That was fun!
Let's do it again.

{As an aside, Daddy and Gage were happy to send us girls off to Tyler for a few days while they did stinky-boy-stuff!}

Easter Afternoon....

After a busy Easter morning, we loaded up and headed to Mema's house. Mema lives about an hour or so away from us, and Darnin and her sisters (my aunts) all take turns being there to help care for Mema.

:)

I was THRILLED to dress Eliette in her outfit made by Aunt Marty. Love it, love it, love it! I have to say though, she looks like a little Cabbage Patch doll to me!

 We had another egg hunt, which was fun. Daddy helped E, and Gage hunted with "Baby Lane," one of his second cousins. (Some older cousins hid the eggs for them.)

It was all fun & games until:
Seriously, that picture cracks me up every time. She was fine. I happened to be standing on the back patio, and snapped the shot at just the right (or wrong) time. Again---she was fine.

The egg hunters:

This picture of Big Ol' Daddy with his teeny-tiny basket cracks me up too.
:)

It was a pretty quick visit to Mema's house. She wasn't feeling it with a house full of visitors that day... And it wasn't nearly the whole family, by any means... Just a few of us there.

We ate a bit, hunted eggs, visited some, and came home.

I can't fail to mention that my son would barely eat ANYTHING! Picky McPickerson!

Watch out, or Darnin will get your macaroni! {And by that, I mean your TWO macaroni noodles. Ugh. Kids.}

It was a good day...

Easter Morning!

"The Easter Bunny came!"

Gage was up first (oddly enough), and couldn't wait to show his sister her basket from the Easter Bunny.

{How sweet is that!? Sister seeing her very first Easter basket for the very first time. Who wanted to show her? Brother did. We are so blessed.}

She was most pleased with her light up funky shaped balls. They were very entertaining for her.
That sleepy little face.... didn't take long for her to wake up, though.
And then what? Well, we spied with our little eyes: Easter eggs in the front yard! The hunt was on.

It was a great morning!

Easter afternoon coming up soon.
:)
